
On the blow molding floor, uneven preform heating shows up fast. You get off-spec bottles—thin walls, stress cracks, weak bases—and the line starts chasing temperature every few minutes. Swapping a lamp is downtime you can feel. Chasing mismatched wattage and voltage is worse.
What matters under the hood
We built this preform reheat lamp as a direct 1:1 replacement for the heating tunnels on Sidel, Krones, SIPA, Husky, and other major stretch blow molders. It’s a 1000W, 230V short-wave infrared emitter, with a quartz tube and standard R7s connectors, engineered to deliver stable, repeatable heat. In practice, that means you can swap one lamp for another without re-tuning the whole heating profile or rewriting machine parameters.
Why this matters on a running line
The heating section is the bottleneck, and it has to be repeatable, cycle after cycle. With this lamp, you get consistent radiant energy that supports uniform preform surface temperature, so stretch ratios and wall distribution stay under control. That means fewer rejects, fewer operator tweaks, and more uptime. The 1000W rating at 230V matches OEM expectations, so the existing power supply, reflectors, and control logic don’t need rework.
What to watch for
Check lamp length and R7s fit against your reflector and holder—clearance is tight in a crowded tunnel. Infrared emitters run hot, so keep reflectors clean and make sure airflow around the quartz tube is sufficient to avoid cooking nearby components. Install it right, and you’ll get long service life with stable output. Still, always verify voltage at the socket and check connector contact resistance to prevent voltage drop and uneven heating.
