If you run a PET blowing plant, you already know the drill. Margins are thin, and every second the machine isn’t running is money leaking out of your pocket. When a heating lamp burns out, the last thing you want is a project. You don’t want to spend your afternoon rewiring an oven or hacking a bracket just to get a replacement to fit. You just want a lamp that works. That’s why we build ours to be “plug and play” for about 95% of the equipment out there. We don’t overcomplicate it. We just nail the three things that actually matter: the power, the size, and the heat. The “Will it Fit?” Factor Here’s the thing about power: it’s binary. Either it works or it blows. Most plants are juggling 220V and 380V/400V systems. If you accidentally pop a 220V lamp into a 400V socket? Boom. Instant waste of money. We make our tubes across both ranges so the wattage actually matches your power supply. We also obsess over the physical dimensions. Whether you’re using R7s or SK15 connectors, the pins just line up. No forcing, no bending, no “making it work.” It just slides in. The Science (The Simple Version) We use high-purity quartz glass because it can handle the shock of being turned on and off rapidly without cracking. Then there’s the halogen cycle. Without it, the tungsten filament evaporates and coats the inside of the tube in a dark film. That kills your light transmission. Our lamps stay clear. Plus, some of our tubes have a special coating that tweaks the IR wavelength. This is a big deal because it pushes the heat into the plastic wall of the preform rather than just scorching the outside. You get a better blow, every time. Real Talk: The Heat Struggle High-wattage lamps—the 2500W+ stuff—are great for fast cycle times. But they come with a catch. They put out a massive amount of heat, which can bake your machine frame if you aren’t careful. Check your cooling fans. Seriously. If your vents are clogged with dust or blocked, those lamps are going to run way too hot and burn out way too fast. We keep these in stock specifically so you don’t have to deal with custom lead times. You can swap them during a shift change and get back to making bottles. Simple as that.
